Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Pookie
Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Pookie:
Crammed full of purr-sonality, more than her tiny seven-pound body can contain, vibrant, vivacious Pookie is a force to be reckoned with:) Born in June of 2005, she initially came to us as a stray back in 2006, but was so darn adorable that she soon found herself living in a wonderful home of her own with one of our volunteers! Pookie and Sundae, a former Crash Kitten, lived together harmoniously for years, soaking in sunbeams from their living room window and romping and racing around the house with glee. But sadly, in July of 2011, their owner, and our good friend, fell ill, and could no longer care for her girls, so we welcomed the girls back, in hopes of finding them homes again.
Well, Pookie has acclimated nicely, although now she shares space with about 100 other cats versus one! Her previous name was Teensy, way back when. Although "Pookie" fits her to a tee, she is a teeny little thing still due to a medical condition known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease, which I have been treating successfully for years with steroid injections periodically. She also had quite a bit of gingivitis and had to have some teeth extracted years ago, but since then has not had any other oral issues. So, in a nutshell, there really is no reason you can't bring Pookie into your loving home! She really is quite a catch, and one of the most darling, delightful little cats around! And it would thrill us all to know that she has once again a place to call her own:)
