Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: P.Y.T.
|
Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about P.Y.T.:
Six weeks prior to her arrival as another wounded, wayward soul at Crash's, 'Pete the Cat found herself in the backyard of SE Grand Rapids residents Jason and Chandra Criffield. Unable to take this little waif inside due to profound allergies, the duo cared for her until we finally had an opening on January 3rd, but by that time she (yes, she) had suffered a nasty cat bite wound that abscessed the lower portion of her back. And when we discovered that this Pretty Young thing (born in the summer of 2011) was indeed a girl, well she needed a new moniker...so P.Y.T. was as close to Pete as I could come:)
As delicate and dainty as they come, our pretty girl had no business being out on her own. Even though she was spayed, she was painfully thin, plagued with internal parasites and of course had been the victim of a very vicious attack. And to top things off, she actually had a collar, tag and an owner who refused toclaim her-INFURIATING! Although she tested negative for both Feline Leukemia and FIV, she will need to be she re-tested gain in February to insure she didn't pick up either virus from the nasty bite she suffered. She actually gets along famously well with the other kitties, and as long as they are good to her she will chum up and be their best friend. She is docile and gentle, and such an unassuming sweetie that you just can't help but want to pick her up and hold her close in your protective arms.
I am looking forward to placing P.Y.T. into a Pretty Terrific Home, so if you would like apply for the position, we would be thrilled!
