Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Mumford

Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Mumford:

After leaving her volunteer shift on Thursday March 1st 2012, a very under-the-weather Kim Grant was making her way from her detached garage to her house when something caught her eye. An orange cat, whom she had seen through the window a few times during the winter, marched right on up to her. She politely asked him who he was, and he proceeded to tell her his story!
Friendly as they come with quite the swagger, he quickly made it known to her that he was in need of some rescuing: intact, hungry and frankly more interested in chowing down on the kibble placed in front of him than anything else at the moment. He stayed put while she went in and grabbed a carrier, then allowed her to scoop him up, accepting his capture with little fanfare and what we both agree was deeply felt appreciation.
Well, when Kim brought him out to me a few short days later, after Focus on Ferals took care of neutering him, I tell ya I could not have been more pleased with what emerged, boldly and confidently from the carrier. In fact, Kim so succinctly put it when she emailed me "with his cock-sure attitude, he reminds me of one of the male leads in those god-awful bodice-ripper novels" - I laughed out loud! He IS quite the stud-muffin, but now that he has been fixed, well, he is more muffin than stud! Seriously, he is as affectionate as they come, with a come hither look that draws us women to him like flies to honey (OK, I guess he still is a stud!). And as a bonus, he is just as wonderful with the other kitties, engaging them in good feline fun and clever cat-worthy conversation. I do think his heart belongs to us humans though, as he seems to love nothing more, now that his tummy is full, than to keep our company, showering us with his meowing musings on life.
My list: yup, he is on it too! Man, I really am a crazy cat lady; good thing I have a husband to keep me in check. Well, at least I get to see my love at the shelter any time I so desire, and with rugged good looks like his, coupled with a charm and charisma that basically oozes from each pore, well you know I go visiting quite often! You can stop my visits short though by coming to Crash's to meet this wonderful man yourself, and marvel in how awesome he really is by taking him home!
