Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Maxie

Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Maxie:

WOW! There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe the energy this girl has, or how much purr-sonality and charm she exudes - she is truly amazing! Born in April of 2010, she ended up at Harbor Humane Society in West Olive in July of that same year. She tested positive for feline leukemia, but instead of being euthanized (as the staff had fallen head over heels for her), she was housed there until they finally contacted me in February of 2011.
You could tell Maxie had been cooped up for so long, as she had all of this untamed, almost frantic, energy bottled up that she had to let loose. She didn't really know how to play with others at first, and her attempts to engage in fun activity usually included a swift swat upside their unsuspecting heads! Now I am proud to say that she is mastering the art of playing nice and is making feline friends along the way. She is hysterical to watch run about and explore every nook and cranny we have at Sids. Her eyes most often resemble huge saucers as she tries to absorb everything in sight, and her body is almost always in constant motion. I tell you what, seeing her in all of her glory brings joy to my heart; knowing that it took all of 7 months to do so breaks it though.
All in all, her story has a happy middle, as I believe Sid's is just a layover for this girl with bigger plans; someone familiar with feleuk will fall head over heels for this tantalizing tot and take her on home!
