Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Jersey

Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Jersey:

Jersey girl came to us on October 17th 2006, after hanging around the Wyoming home of a certified cat magnet. Having had a litter or two in the past, it was about time this gorgeous smoky gray gal (born in April of 2005) got off the streets and into someplace safe and warm. And although deep down we know she was (and is still) appreciative, Jersey has proven to be a challenging cat in that she is really set in her ways, and has decided that she does not want anything to do with the 100-plus other cats we have available for adoption. Well, that make life a bit interesting at times when she voices her opinion or swats at a neighboring cat for being a bit too close for comfort! But, get her one-on-one, or even with just a few less cats in her close proximity, and she is in 7th heaven and behaves like an angel.
I have discovered her all time favorite thing is to 'get nipped' - she rolls and romps in cat nip like it is raining down manna from heaven! She is much more mellow and agreeable when she is buzzing on the nip! I think she would do best in an adult household with few other pets - and ideal home would be a nice couple that would appreciate her antics and enjoy her goofy behavior and she romps around showing off like a gleeful little girl should!
****Long overdue update on our Jerseylicious girl! time has mellowed her, and although she still thinks bald is beautiful, she socializes nicely with the other kitties and has actually befriended many of our Crash cats! She is as pretty as she is popular with the volunteers, who dote on her and tell how how gorgeous of a girl she is. Currently our longest-standing resident, we are longing to locate a fur-ever home for our girl!

Thanks to volunteers Steve and Diane Blackford for sponsoring this quirky girl who likes to lick herself a bit bald at times - geesh Jers - talk about hairballs!
This cat has a history of excessive grooming.
