Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Ivana

Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Ivana:

When I took mama Ivana in back in July 2006, it was with 3 babies in tow; the brood had been left on the doorstep of a business a few doors down from the vet clinic. Of course the kittens were quick to be adopted (and I still see 2 of them as clients all of these years later) but Ivana remained a matriarch figure at Crash's for years.
In the fall of 2010, one of our volunteers took up my foster-for-free-vet-care offer, and took this black beauty on home. Ever the lovebug, Ivana's time spent with Sandy was a testament as to just how adorable and affectionate she is down to her core; and at 17+ pounds, her core is a bit hard to get to:) In fact, Sandy remarked on how this buxom babe has by far the loudest purr she has ever heard, and when she got her motor running, it was quite something to hear!
So, it broke Sandy's heart when she had to make her foster suite cat-free due to health issues; bringing back her boarders, led by Ivana, was one of the saddest days of her life. But, what she has to realize is that she gave Ivana and 5 other kitties a chance at a home life, that up until that point they hadn't experienced. And she could attest to the fact that Ivana was by far one of THE best cats she had had; the family that ultimately decides to take her home with be one of the luckiest families, as this cat is just THAT SPECIAL! Happy-go-lucky, a friend to all felines and humans alike, this sweet senior is going to grace any house that she sets paw in.
Oh, and lest I forget to mention one other thing that makes her unique - her crumpled right ear. Infection caused a hematoma years ago, and even though I surgically repaired it, these have a tendency to flop when fully healed. I think it makes her look even cuter than she already is!
