Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Inga

Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Inga:
Back in June of 2012, a Byron Center family started looking after this gorgeous girl and her kittens. Over time they were able to successful place the babies in homes and had mom spayed, but due to allergies within the home and the fact that the household cats were NOT thrilled with another kitty inside, they weren't able to keep her. When one of our volunteers happened to be delivering pizza to the neighbors, they struck up a conversation, and we were asked to get involved.
So, on October 16th, we welcomed this timid little lady into our fold and promised her we would provide her with stability, security and a safe place to call her own. Born in the fall of 2010, I don't think poor Inga has really know what a true home is like for long, as she seemed so out of her element initially. Preferring to hide in the cozy depths of a cat cubby or hunkered down next to (and behind) one of her new feline family members. Not one to come greet you on her own, she will accept and actually revel in affection bestowed upon her, but it takes some gentle coaxing and soothing words to insure her that she is not in harms way.
Ultimately we will need to find Inga a quiet, reserved, mellow environment for her to settle down in. I think she would prefer a home without small children, perhaps one involving a single person or a couple that likes to spend nights reading on the sofa or tapping away at the keyboard with a kitty on their lap. We know that Inga will blossom in the right home, so in the meantime our dedicated volunteers are doing everything within their power to make her feel secure and loved. She deserves all the best we have to offer!
