Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Hogan
Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Hogan:
This flame-point honey (born around November of 2005) has become one of the most handsome cats at Big Sid's Sanctuary! Our friends at Harbor Humane Society actually had to live trap this wayward soul, who was just getting the tar beat out of him out in Ottawa county, and when the manager Heidi took one look at his beaten and battered face, she had a hunch about FIV, and indeed he did test positive for FIV.
So Heidi brought him on over on July 3rd of 2008, and I bathed him up, neutered him, shaved off his greasy, stud-tail fur, and got him all spiffy and shiny and ready to go. His first few days at Big Sid's he spent most of his time nestled up tight in a kitty cubby, but by day 3, he was sniffing noses with other residents, and really seemed comforted by their presence.
Hogan is no hulk by any means, weighing in at 11 pounds, but with good, consistent meals and lots of TLC, he has become quite the hunk!
Thanks to Heidi and the gang for not giving up on these special-needs cats - they certainly do deserve every chance we can give them! And thanks to volunteer Kelly Budnick and our new friend, Kerri Michels, for sponsoring this sweetie, in honor of her beloved cat Hobbes:)!
