Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Gina:
Gorgeous Gina was initially a Crash Cat back in December of 2004; her given name back then was Paprika. She was such a gentle girl with a calm demeanor that she got herself adopted only a few short months later, and for 7 years lived as part of the kitty duo of Robert and Gina. But, household allergies prompted her owners (initially her grandparents) to contact me about returning her in April of 2012. Our policy has always been open door, so I was thrilled when asked if we would welcome her back, but what warmed my heart even more was the fact that her owners made a very lengthy car trip from Wheaton Illinois to get her back to us. Thank you Carol and Gary!
Well, always having been a bit shy, Gina was initially quite timid in her new, boisterous surroundings, but warmed up to the volunteers quite easily. She isn't big on being picked up, but wrap your arms protectively around her and snuggle in close for some pets and she relaxes and enjoys herself. And although I know she misses her 'brother', she has taken a shining to a few of our residents here, so she isn't lonely or in any sense of the word alone. She is one to take a back seat to the more outgoing kitties in the mix, but it seems that she delights in letting them entertain her, while she sits back and watches the show (and she stays out of trouble that way:) Overall, she is genuinely a mellow, quiet girl who I feel would love nothing more than to land herself in a home where she had another feline friend and a couple of reserved humans who would allow her to laze the day away, perhaps sunning herself in a windowsill, or sleeping cozily on top of the duvet. Ah yes, I think that is definitely the type of life Gina fancies for herself as she enters what are to be her golden years.
Thanks for taking time to find out more about our Crash Cats!!
