Before going to Dr. Jen's comments about Gigi, let me just say that she has been with us at Big Sid's since May of 2006. She is an absolute love, and has tested positive for FIV, and many vets would recommend just putting her down for that. Big Sid's is a place where FIV and FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) cats can live. These cats are eminently adoptable, and this Sunday we are having a meet-and-greet event at Big Sid's, from 1 to 3 PM: see our home page for more info.
Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Gigi:
Thanks to Paws and Whiskers Shelter out of Toledo, this wonderful cat was saved from impending doom in the spring of 2006. Gigi somehow ended up at their facility, and sadly tested positive for FIV, BUT no one at the place had the heart to euthanize such a sweetheart! Having an ongoing relationship with the group, we agreed to take her in, even though we are trying to keep to local rescues - we just couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to this terrific cat!
Gigi is a quiet beauty, a demure, dainty little lady (born in November of 2002) who prefers to sit back in the shadows and let the others take the spotlight, hough she is quite the attention-grabber when she is one-on-one with her favorite human companions!
Thanks to Paws and Whiskers for your amazing efforts and your initial financial support of the gang! And thanks to volunteer Lori Hinueber, for taking a shine to this sweet gal!
