Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Cleo

Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Cleo:

I received a heartwarming call from a gentleman named Mark who lived on the other side of the state and worked with WAG as a foster dad to kitties in need. Sadly, he took in a pregnant mom in the summer of 2011 who tested positive for Feline Immunodefiency Virus, and was unable to put her into their adoption program due to her status. Since maternal antibody is the cause of FIV-positive kittens, her babies would be candidate for adoption once they tested negative (which they will), but poor mom had nowhere to go, and Mark was running out of time. So, we worked it out that he would drive her on over to the vet's office and I would give her the medical attention she needed and then get her into our Sanctuary. On August 23rd, the lovely yet comical Cleo arrived, ready to tackle whatever came her way with vigor and a vivaciousness you can clearly see in her eyes!
Born sometime in 2007 I think, Cleo had a mouth so messy that I had to extract all of her teeth except her canines on the left side, flushed her ear canals (she had a nasty otitis) and de-worm her for an uncommon parasite. Once that was all taken care of, off to Big Sid's she went, where she promptly decided she didn't need to be confined to our intake cage or even room, and after a few short days, she was making her way around the place, as I alluded to above, like she owned it.
Cleo is a classy cat, but one who knows how to have fun and who to have it with! She is very affectionate, but she is also very adventurous and quite busy. In fact, I think the only time she is not in perpetual motion is when she has conked out for a much needed good night's sleep! Her energy is boundless and her gratitude for now being a totally pampered and spoiled indoor Big Sid's Kid is limitless; she is a fabulous little cat and I am as thrilled to have her with us as I know she is to be with us! Thanks to WAG and Mark for saving this beautiful girl's life and giving her a second chance with us!
