Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Cela

Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Cela:

I have never before come across a cat with eyes so pale green before - they are absolutely breathtaking! And when this poor waif came to us on August 30th, 2011, she was so pathetic and frightened, her sorry state took my breath away too - but for the wrong reasons:( Born in February of 2008 I estimate, 4.75-pound Cela (named after the shade of green called celadon) was so thin and flea-ridden, infested with ear mites and in heat, anemic and bedraggled it made me want to cry. How anyone could move away and leave their own cat in such sad shape is beyond me, but that is exactly what was heartlessly done to this courageous little kitty.
It only took a few days for Cela to come out of her shell, but once her belly was full and she was feeling better, having had her issues attended to, she was literally begging for attention. I understand she was only kicked out the day her delinquent owners actually moved, but I am sorry, what type of owners take such crappy care of their pet that it is anemic from fleas and malnourishment?? Have I mentioned that I detest people sometimes! In any case, the kindhearted neighbors were on top of things, and enlisted our help via a relative at Pet Supplies Plus, so in the end, it all worked out for the very best!
Cela adores everyone she meets, which is quite an attribute to have in the adoption market:) She also enjoys the kitty companionship she has ten times over here at Crash's, and more often than not, you will find her all snuggled up next to another warm furry feline friend, dreaming the day away while the volunteers refill her food bowl and fluff her pillows! Never more will she have a rough life, for she is being treated like a queen now that we have her as one of our own. And we will make darned sure that whomever adopts this little beauty realizes just how very special she is, and will vow to pamper her and spoil her to her heart's content!
Thanks to Becky and Carrie Conrmelisse for rescuing this little damsel in distress - you saved her life.
