Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Axel:
Once again, to no surprise, another pair of cats fell victim to the lack of responsibility of their human 'owners', as they were left behind without a second thought given to what would happen to them or who would care for them. In February of 2011, volunteers Wendy and John Dreyer noticed that their neighbors were gone, and shortly after that, discovered that their two cats had taken up part-time residence in their garage. So they took to feeding and looking after them, but having a small zoo residing in their own home, knew they had to make work of getting them into our program.
So on April 14th, we welcomed Axel and Slash into Crash's, and boy, was Slash ready to tell us all about it! Born in the spring of 2008, these two intact toms were well endowed and proud! Although as gentle as they come, both had seen their share of trouble pre-rescue, as Axel sported many a scar from rough-housing (though I suppose it could have been from his gregarious brother) and Slash had been shot repeatedly, as I removed several pellets from under his skin. Both boys loved nothing more than to snuggle up next to one another and snooze the day away; you could tell they simply delighted in the fact that they were now inside cats and didn't have to brave the weather and elements! Axel is the bigger brother, but the more reserved of the two (not that it fits with his namesake, but c'mon, you can't have a Slash without an Axel!!)
UPDATE 5-11-12: Seems that Slash landed himself a rockin' new home, but Axel wished him well and told him he would see him on the reunion circuit! No worries gang, as Axel has turned into quite a easy-going fella who doesn't need his little bro protecting him anymore. So, now is your chance to scoop up this handsome fella and have him all to yourself!
