Our featured cat for The River's Purrfect Friday: Alejandro

Here's what Dr. Jen had to say about Alejandro:

When my friend Thaisa rescued this stunning stray in early September, she didn't want to burden me with her request for help, as she knows just how terribly overloaded we can get. But, what are friends for, especially when there is a cat in need out there roaming the streets.
Born in the fall of 2008, this outrageously handsome orange and white boy found himself homeless about 6 months prior to his rescue, when his deadbeat owners tossed him to the curb to fend for himself. As you can see from his picture here, this poor guy's ears were SO infected with ear mites that were left untreated, that his left ear is crumpled like cauliflower and both ear drums had ruptured from the chronicity of the issue. He was also covered in fleas and quite dirty, but once I got my hands on him, he looked (and felt) like a new kitty! There isn't anything I can do to repair the damage that has been done to his ear, but I did get the infection under control quite easily; it is amazing what can be achieved when a little bit of effort is put forth!
I can see why Thaisa fell so helplessly head-over-heels in love with this guy; if it weren't for her sassy senior Zade' at home, Alejandro would have been hers! He is an effervescent, outgoing fella who adores the companionship the others kitties have to offer, but really thinks that the volunteers are the bee's knees; in fact, you could say he goes 'gaga' over them:) He is by far one of the cutest, quirkiest looking cats we have, fitting in well with other unique-looking kitties and strutting his stuff with confidence and style! He will thrive in any type of household really, as his personality is laid-back and he is very easy to please. In fact, shower him with TLC and he will be a fan of yours for life! All this boy wants is to love and be loved - not a tall order to fill at all!
