Jersey girl came to us on October 17th 2006, after having been hanging around the Wyoming home of cat magnet, Sharon Meppelink. Having had a litter or two in the past, it was about time this gorgeous smokey gray gal (born in April of 2005) got off the streets and into someplace safe and warm. Jersey has proven to be a challenging cat in the fact that she is really set in her ways and has decided that she does not want anything to do with the 100 plus roamers we have available for adoption. Our intake area has only about 25, so that is where she resides. Jersey gets very frightened when she is overwhelmed by her surroundings and gets a wee bit grumpy if stressed, so we decided she and Garland can live on intake indefinitely until we find each of them a home of their own. I have discovered her all time favorite thing is to 'get nipped' - she rolls and romps in cat nip like it is raining down manna from heaven! She is much more mellow and less vocal and opinionated about the other cats sharing her domain when she is buzzing on the nip! I think she would do best in an adult household with few other pets. An ideal home would be a nice couple that would appreciate her antics and enjoy her goofy behavior as she romps around showing off like a gleeful little girl should!
